The Inaugural Khaki Kakis Golf Tour

Mandai - Cold, wet and muddy conditions did little to deter the inauguration of the Khaki Kakis Golf Tour. The first competition on the tour calendar - The Rocky's Classic - is held at the short, but tricky Executive Golf Course. With the longest hole at a mere par 4, 265 meters, the emphasis here is indeed skill, and not power.

SW and his unorthodox methods brought him little success in this tournament. He shot a 6 over par on the 2nd hole, followed by dismal showings at the 3rd, 4th and 5th holes. Even though he recovered and shot consistently for the next few holes, he was too far behind the leaders.

"Aiyah, golf clubs so expensive also win me by only a few strokes," a bitter SW said. "If I have good clubs, you guys smell no smoke ah."

LX had a very consistent game, sinking in double bogeys and triple bogeys throughout the 9 holes. However, his 7 over par showing at hole 8 cost him the title, which went to CE.

"My chipping let me down today, especially at the 8th hole," LX said. "My ball just didn't manage to lift, and the steep slopes didn't help also"

CE started well with just a bogey on hole one, but was inconsistent with 5 over par at the 2nd and 5th holes. However, he recovered with 3 double bogeys in a row for the last 3 holes, allowing him to edge out LX by just one stroke for the title.

"I'm definitely happy to win this tournament," an elated CE said. "But I'm even happier that the tournament got underway, and that I played golf with great company"
