A feel of the 2006 Open Championship

After the stormy, gloomy and wet monsoon season comes the scorching hot and dry months of February and beyond. The grounds at Seletar Base Golf Course was so hard, I couldn't push my tees down to the appropriate height!

The dry conditions are quite new to us, and in a way, it's quite ego boosting. Whether it's a thin or topped shot, the ball just kept rolling forward to quite a considerable distance. Now I fully understood why Tiger Woods' 2-iron shots at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club can travel as far (or even further) than his usual driver shots elsewhere.

And, for the very first time, a little money was on the line. Josh placed $10, saying that I couldn't sink a birdie putt at the par-3 8th. Well, I lost. Then, we wagered $10 on the 9th and final hole, with me giving him a 2 stroke handicap. I drove 250 meters, while his mis-hit shot went just 100m or so. The rest, as they say, is history.

Scores (SW and Josh thinks that scoring is not important):

Hiaz, still trying to break 50 for this course.
