Golf resolutions for the new year

2007 was a year that was filled with golf. We managed to visit exotic golfing destinations like Phuket and Bangkok, tried new courses at Bintan, and even discovered a nice place at Southlinks. But, scores aren't improving as much.

Here are my golfing resolutions for 2008:

Break 90!
Well, after having consistently scored in the low 100s and a couple of 90s, it's time to aim even lower.

Earn comfortably to replace my TaylorMade 2002 RAC LT irons and ugly R5 460 XL driver without batting an eyelid
I know that my present irons aren't too bad, but it's just that they're a bit out-dated. Of course, nothing beats SW's Mizuno Zephyr when it comes to out-datedness, but yeah, good to have new equipment.

And while my driver never gave me significant problems, it's a bit ugly. Not sure why I even chose it in the first place. Love is blind? Bwahaha!

Prevent SW and Josh from beating me
I've always told SW and Josh that the day they beat me over 18 holes will be one of the happiest day in my golfing life. Why? Because as a friend, I want them to improve too. Not that I'm a fabulous golfer, it's just that my scores are always lower than theirs at the moment.

See? I'm such a nice guy. But, the competitive streak in me still don't that to happen. Again, bwahaha!

Play golf beyond South East Asia
Not sure how much damage will be done to the bank account, but it'll be great to tee off in South Australia after some wine tasting in Barossa Valley, or to aim for a birdie putt on the Formosa greens after walking through Shih-Lin night market the evening before.

Happy Holidays to all. May your 2008 wishes come true!
